ILP Accelerator

4-Month Accelerator Roadmap

Proof of Concept Implementation: Integrating AP/AR, Autonomous Netting, ILP APIs, and Stablecoin Settlement.

Program Objective

We are building a deterministic on-chain accounting and netting system to bridge the $2T global trade finance gap.

This 4-month timeline outlines our path to proving that autonomous netting and factoring can be safely deployed over open, interoperable networks using the Interledger Protocol (ILP).

Goal: End-to-End Trade Finance PoC

Modern sleek dashboard interface showing financial data, dark mode, abstract

Implementation Timeline

Month 1

Foundation & Accounting

Invoice Verification, AR/AP Ledger State Machine

Month 2

Netting & Open Payments

Netting Engine Logic, ILP API & peer.settle proxying

Month 3

Stablecoin Settlement

Settlement Engine decoupling, CDSC Adoption

Month 4

Hardening & Demo

Stress Testing, Edge Case Mitigation, Final Demo

Month 1: Foundation & Accounting

Key Activities

Develop Invoice Verification workflows within the core platform. Establish programmable Account Receivable (AR) and Account Payable (AP) ledger structures to mathematically represent trade debt.

Deliverables

A functional off-chain accounting state machine. It will accurately map trade liabilities and assets between counterparties without prematurely exposing metadata to public on-chain networks.

Risk & Mitigation

Risk: State divergence between buyer and supplier accounting nodes.

Mitigation: Implement strict schema validation and double-entry transit journals to ensure cryptographic ledger alignment.

Month 2: Netting & Open Payments

Key Activities

Build the Netting Engine logic to autonomously aggregate AP/AR balances. Integrate Open Payment / ILP APIs to enable cross-node message proxying and intent signaling.

Deliverables

An active ILP Router implementation capable of processing peer.settle packets. This establishes the critical communication layer to sync settlement intents between disparate accounting nodes.

Risk & Mitigation

Risk: Complex ILP routing failures and dropped packets during netting.

Mitigation: Keep node configurations simple via direct peering for the PoC; implement exponential backoff for all API retries.

Month 3: Stablecoin Settlement

Key Activities

Connect the abstract Settlement Engine to a live testnet ledger. Implement Stablecoin (CDSC) adoption mechanisms to handle the irrevocable, cross-border transfer of value.

Deliverables

An end-to-end automated settlement process where an ILP Fulfill packet successfully triggers a programmatic stablecoin transaction, clearing the off-chain AP/AR debt.

Risk & Mitigation

Risk: Underlying ledger latency causing ILP packet timeouts.

Mitigation: Strictly decouple the Settlement Engine from the Accounting Node; utilize asynchronous webhook listeners for ledger finality.

Month 4: Hardening & Demo

Key Activities

Conduct rigorous end-to-end scenario testing covering the full lifecycle (Invoice -> Netting -> ILP -> CDSC). Polish the user interface and prepare the final demo script.

Deliverables

A production-ready Proof of Concept demonstrating seamless, autonomous supply chain factoring and netting to accelerator stakeholders and potential investors.

Risk & Mitigation

Risk: Unhandled edge cases and logical loops in the autonomous netting algorithm.

Mitigation: Execute comprehensive unit test coverage and deliberately restrict the PoC scope to predefined happy and sad paths.

Budget Plan (4-Month Accelerator)

Category ILF-Requested Expenses Comments
Personnel / Salaries $ 48,000 Compensation for core development team (Lead Engineer, Backend Dev, and QA Specialist) crucial for building the AP/AR Ledger and executing comprehensive unit test coverage.
Technology & Tools $ 6,500 Hardware security modules (HSM) for key management, dedicated testing devices, and robust unit testing frameworks to mitigate edge cases in the netting algorithm.
Software / License / Hosting / Subscriptions $ 4,500 Cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) for hosting isolated ILP test nodes, CI/CD pipeline subscriptions for automated testing, and developer tool licenses.
Marketing & Outreach $ 3,000 Creation of demo materials, explainer videos, and community engagement assets to showcase the end-to-end PoC to stakeholders.
Project Materials $ 1,500 UI/UX design assets, technical architecture diagramming tools, and presentation software for the final accelerator demo.
Miscellaneous / Contingency $ 5,000 Buffer allocated for unexpected API integration hurdles, extended debugging sessions, or additional infrastructure needs during ILP routing.
Other expenses $ 0 No additional expenses anticipated at this phase.
